Let me paint a picture for you.
It’s early morning, the sun’s barely up, and I wake to the sound of what can only be described as a burglar in my house. My heart’s pounding, I grab the nearest weapon, a slipper (obviously), and tiptoe toward the noise.
Surprise! no “burglar…just my dog looking happy as can be.
And he’s not stealing valuables he’s elbows deep in one of my favorite throw pillows totally shredded up and what looked like massive piles of snow in my living room. He was looking at me like, “You weren’t using this, right?”

That’s life with a dog. Equal parts chaos, comedy, and unconditional love.
You start out thinking you’re the responsible adult who’s going to “train them right,” and somewhere along the way, you realize you’re just the human who buys the toys, opens the jars, makes the kongs and provides neck rubs on demand.

Shoes get chewed. Schedules get rearranged. Dog hair becomes a permanent home and wardrobe accessory (it’s fine, it’s texture). And when you have a lab like I do, we’re talking lot’s and lot’s of dog hair! But somehow, you wouldn’t trade it for anything. On second thought I might trade him for a super cool vintage bronco! 🙂
Because a happy dog really does mean a happy life.
They drag you outside for walks when you’d rather be watching Netflix or drinking your coffee, or sipping on a delicious cocktail, and you come back with a clear head and maybe a new neighbor friend. They make you laugh when you’re stressed, and they remind you to celebrate the small stuff, like finding an old tennis ball or noticing that oh gee at least he hasn’t torn apart all on my pillows yet.

And when that tail starts wagging? And when you look into those eyes? OMG those eyes! Everything else fades out.
Suddenly, your mood lifts, your heart melts, and you remember that joy doesn’t have to be complicated.
So yeah, a happy dog equals a happy life, and if you’re lucky, an intact pair of shoes too. Excluding the flip flops, boy are those his favorite! Good chewability I guess.
Give your fur baby a little extra love today, and let’s keep those tails wagging!

Thanks for checkin in!
